1Password introduces approved sign-ins for personal AI agents

The company says its new platform fills approved credentials directly into websites without exposing them to supported agents.

The October 22 announcement describes a phased introduction. Muse and Grok Bot integrations are rolling out over the coming days; Claude Duet, ChatGPT Work and dots, and Town connections are still listed as coming soon.

According to the product FAQ, the agent identifies itself with a digital key at sign-in. You see the requested credential and reason, then approve on your own device. 1Password fills the form directly; the agent continues without receiving the password.

After signing in, an agent may see information or act inside the account. That depends on the agent and website. The FAQ therefore asks users to review the task and account before approving access.

The Muse integration FAQ specifies eligibility: Individual and Families accounts on 1password.com are supported, while accounts on 1password.eu and 1password.ca are not yet supported. An existing eligible account can be used to connect Muse.

For Muse specifically, 1Password says purchases and emails are examples of sensitive actions for which Muse asks for confirmation. Users separately approve which saved logins it may use.

Users can also disconnect Muse from 1Password when they no longer want it to use saved logins through that connection.
