Scite's Smart Citations show the surrounding text of a citation and classify it as supporting, contrasting or mentioning. Its research tools also include an Assistant and integrations for working with scholarly literature.
A useful first task
CurioFuse suggestion: take a paper you already understand and inspect how several later papers cite it. Read at least one supporting and one contrasting passage where available. Write a short note explaining exactly which claim each passage addresses. Compare that note with the original paper: a criticism of one method may say little about a different finding. This small exercise helps you decide whether citation context improves your own review process.
Before choosing
Use it to investigate the reception of a scientific claim, alongside reading the studies themselves. A citation label is an aid to inspection, not a quality score or a verdict. Check the full passage and relevant methods before treating a supporting or contrasting label as evidence for your conclusion.
