Letterpress-1 proposes website changes through pull requests
Letter offers Build, Plan and Fix modes for teams working with Git.
Letterpress-1 targets teams whose websites live in Git, a system for tracking code changes. Its Build mode creates changes, Plan proposes work toward a goal, and Fix addresses website issues. Letter says each change includes a live preview of the team's own site before merging. Users choose the outcome: a preview, a pull request proposing changes, or a merge after checks pass. These are the provider's descriptions, not an independent test.
The agent documentation makes the sequence more concrete. Setup begins with an account and a site, followed by an authenticated connection through MCP, an interface for exposing tools to AI agents. Build plans from the user's instructions, works in a sandbox, then produces a pull request and preview. Users can steer a running build or request revisions to an open change. Plan's proposed actions run when the user approves the selected work.
The billing rules distinguish activity from spending permission. The application, terminal, Slack, MCP and API draw from one token pool, and running work reserves tokens. Work can continue beyond the included pool at the plan's overage rate, up to the configured spending cap. Reaching that cap stops new work from starting and prompts administrators for more. Unused monthly plan tokens do not roll over; unused free-account tokens transfer when that account adds a card.
MarkTechPost reported the beta release, presenting its focus as growth engineering for websites.
