Cloudflare offers hosted and downloadable Clef decision models

Clef and Clef-flash provide bounded answers for software workflows through Workers AI or downloaded weights.

Cloudflare’s 1 October release illustrates the decision-model approach: supply a support message and ask about urgency or the responsible team. The model returns choices and probabilities that application code can use to route the ticket or defer to a person. Clef also accepts images and scores predefined choices without generating intermediate prose.

A hosted alternative with explicit question types

OpenAI’s Decisions guide describes a public beta using gpt-6-luna with text and image inputs. Developers ask for a condition’s probability, a category, or a score across ordered levels. Independent questions can share one request; questions depending on earlier answers need separate requests. The guide recommends setting routing thresholds with labelled application examples, considering the costs of false positives and false negatives.

Local experimentation has a narrower scope

The Strands announcement presents Decider 2B for local CPU or GPU experimentation, with downloadable weights, training data and scripts. It selects from supplied options and assigns scores rather than writing prose. The authors say that this reduced flexibility makes the approach less suited to complex problems than reasoning models, and unsuitable for text-generation tasks such as chatbots or document summaries.
