Ai2’s release introduces a browser explorer on October 22, 2026. Embeddings are compact numerical features distilled from satellite observations. Users can find similar places, label points to train a small classifier and export a GeoTIFF map, without an account or setup. The explorer also displays underlying Sentinel-2 imagery, so the colored representation can be compared with its source images.

The dataset documentation describes annual features at ten-meter resolution: each pixel has 128 values, with the first 64 usable separately. At launch, 2023–2025 have global coverage, while 2017–2022 cover selected countries. Antarctica is excluded. Missing features do not mean there is no land. Analysts can train a classifier on labeled points and apply it regionally without downloading the original imagery or running the foundation model. For calculations, convert the compressed integer values back to floating-point values first, and use one vector width throughout an analysis.

The model card identifies Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and Landsat as its image sources, including observations across time. It links to tutorials for computing features and adapting the model to a downstream task. In Hugging Face’s Inference Providers section, the card says the model has no provider deployment. That section therefore does not offer a provider-hosted prediction route for it.
