The input texts come from your application: this is a ranking component for an existing search workflow. Rerank 5 accepts text only. Its optional passage selection suits targeted questions; broad summaries need the full document, and tables, forms and code split less cleanly than prose.
The API requires authentication, a model identifier, a query and text strings. It returns ranked results with scores. CurioFuse exercise: supply three short fictional support notes about passwords, invoices and delivery; ask about resetting a password, then inspect whether the relevant note ranks first. This is a suggested check, not a measured result. top_n limits returned results; omitting it returns all. Separately, max_tokens_per_doc truncates long inputs and defaults to 4,096 tokens.
