Cline
A coding agent for working with project files in your editor or terminal, with a choice of model providers.

Cline can read and write files and run terminal commands under user approval controls. Its VS Code extension puts these capabilities inside the editor. It is a candidate for developers who want assistance changing a project, with their own provider credentials as one model-access option.
A bounded first task
Plan mode reads code and discusses an approach without modifying files or executing commands. Act mode enables those operations and retains the conversation. Planning first is recommended, not compulsory. CurioFuse suggestion: begin by asking it to explain one small function and identify edge cases.
Approval settings are checked for each tool call; Auto Approve can permit selected action categories without repeated prompts. YOLO mode automatically approves all actions. For this suggested exercise, leave automatic approval for edits and commands, and YOLO, off. When adding tests, review and approve the proposed file changes and commands before they run. Inspect the resulting tests against the intended behaviour. Switching modes alone is not that approval.
Using DeepSeek
The DeepSeek setup guide requires an API key from DeepSeek Platform. In Cline settings, select DeepSeek as provider, enter the key and choose a model. This is an API-based workflow, distinct from using the DeepSeek Chat assistant. Check the available model selection before choosing this route.
