AnythingLLM Desktop runs on Mac, Windows and Linux and combines local language models with document retrieval. It is intended for one user. The official comparison directs teams needing multiple users, or a public website chat widget, to the server-based Docker edition.
Try a short document
As a first exercise, attach a short project brief by dragging it into the chat or using the plus button. Ask which deadline it mentions, then compare the answer with the original. This is a suggested exercise, not a tested result. Attachments belong to the current conversation thread. For reuse across threads, embed the document in the workspace; this makes relevant sections retrievable instead of inserting the entire file into each question.
